Blue Wednesday is a new series of monthly music performances proudly presented by The Annexe Gallery, with the support of Central Market, to provide a platform for music acts to reach out to a wider audience. For the first Blue Wednesday of 2010, we are delighted to present three bands: Deserters, Stoned Revivals, and Panda Head Curry, playing a 40-minute set apiece.

ABOUT THE BANDS

DESERTERS

Kuala Lumpur-based Deserters are the hybrid of their diverse musical backgrounds and the best bits of your record collection, all sprinkled with a little attitude. Formed and fronted in 2006 by Zack Yusof, this unlikely combination comes soaked to the bone with infectious, ramshackle noise pop complete with soaring melodies, poignant melancholia and planet-sized hooks. To date, the band have performed live at gigs and festivals in Malaysia and Singapore with a host of international and local bands.

STONED REVIVALS

Experimental music done by two eccentric mad hats. Formed in 1990 as a four-piece fresh out of school, influenced by thrash, punk and Madchester, with various line- up changes, spanning their 19 years gigging and writing music for the masses and various indie/local (Singapore) film soundtracks. The band has constantly worked with various musicians for live gigs like Djs, horn sections, sax players, a full orchestra, bacteria and anything that shines under the sun.
